The Academy Awards are tomorrow. Are you watching? I lovelovelove awards shows for the fashion & to see how some of these perfectly polished stars react to real life situations (well, if your real life happened at black tie events, anyway). It's like you can get a sense of who they might really be. Back in the day, when a "fashion stylist" wasn't a term employed by anyone, actresses actually picked out dresses to wear themselves (the horror!). Lucky ones were given dresses by designers, but rarely did any of them have any "professional" advice in what to wear/how to style/accessorize/etc. Some of these starlets (as well as more mature winners) chose exquisitely. Others....meh. Which is your fave?
I think if I had to pick, my top choices would be Luise Rainer's bubble sleeve gown in 1938 & Grace Kelly's sea foam creation by legendary costume designer Edith Head in 1955. But my absolute fave is Hilary Swank's backless Guy Laroche in 2005. So sexy & modest at the same time. Swoon.Follow Glitter In The Grey on Facebook Twitter and Pinterest!
