Decorating For Halloween // Plus A Giveaway!

This may come as a big surprise, but I'm totally intimidated to "dress" my house. Interior design is something I have an eye for, but creating it here at home is so scary. When it comes to seasonal decorating, I'm usually into it though. For some reason I'm not frightened by it like I am by regular decorating...maybe it feels like a short term commitment that doesn't have to be perfect and I don't have to be stressed about making the wrong choice. Plus it's a chance to get a little crazy, which is always fun.

By far, Halloween has become my favorite seasonal decor. I may even have a Pinterest board dedicated to it. I realize the "season" only lasts a month (less if I'm not on the ball) but I've found my niche over the last several years and have got a great collection going. It's pretty much all black which leaves lots of opportunity to mix it up and do lots or a little. I'm going for a kind of creepy-chic thing including lots (& lots) of skeletons.
Back to my "collection". It grows every year (and I'll likely show more of it to you soon). I buy almost all of my holiday stuff at Target or Grandin Road...usually in November. 50-75% off. Naturally!
Do you want to start a Halloween collection? Or add to yours? This week I'm giving away some of my favorite things.

It's also almost the end of voting for the new #VerityMom...please go to www.veritymom.com and submit your vote for me, Morgann Crook.

Don't worry about making bad choices when it comes to holiday decorating. Because if it looks bad or you hate it, you don't have to live with it! On that note, please hook me up with a decorator who can help me with my bedroom. I have an armoire and a rug that I want to keep. Literally everything else can go, but I'm terrified of choosing poorly so I just leave it (and shut the door).
