How I Saved $540 on 10 Pair of Shoes • Spring/Summer Shoe Haul

Since I'm a self-proclaimed shoe+handbag whore maven, I've decided to start a new series re: my seasonal new shoe inventory. Handbag inventory changes a little less frequently (since I have a thing for really expensive bags), so I'll stick to posting a recap on my seasonal purchases, reviews, and links to my shoe closet.
I was a busy girl this Spring/Summer. I actually filled a lot of gaps in my foot wardrobe. Most of these purchases were thoughtful and planned out, where I window shopped & waited for the best deals. Others were impulse (but when you see the prices, you won't blame me!)
To begin, I saved approximately 61% on these shoes. So can you. If you haven't already, you must read my How to Score the Best Deals at Nordstrom Rack Post. These thoughts apply to almost every off-price store. I also do a lot of internet shopping, and love Zappos, Nordstrom, and Piperlime because shipping (both ways) is free. No worries! 6pm & Dorothy Perkins have also been great for me, but you pay for return shipping if something doesn't fit. You also can get better deals since the starting prices are lower to begin with, so oftentimes it's worth it to take the chance.
I get overwhelmed at DSW, and hate Famous Footwear. I hear about great finds at T.J. Maxx but haven't had any myself. Once I did score at DSW (it's next door to my Nordstrom Rack  so sometimes I pop in). They have extra 30/40/50/60/ even 70% off(!) markdowns sometimes and once I got a pair of leather Tahari block heeled sandals for $21, Retail Value (RV) $148.

Miz Mooz black ankle strap sandal
RV $60 • I paid $39.90 (Nordstrom Rack)
My Thoughts :: I needed an everyday flat(ish) black sandal, and loved the velcro closure ankle strap.
Review :: Super comfortable, perfect walkable heel height. Only con, the faux leather is wearing off at the toes. Bummer. No likey.

Gentle Souls gold 'break my heart' gladiator sandal
RV $195 • I paid $59.90 (6pm)
My Thoughts :: I OBSESSED over these sandals for the past year. Really difficult for me to pull the trigger on a $200 pair of sandals though. I live in Seattle! (Boots though? No problem.) After stalking them for months, I just recently found them in gold I (initially wanted the sand color) on can't-say-no sale as a last size.
Review :: Just as amazing as I was led to believe. Perfectly chic & comfy from the first wear. Beautifully made, all leather footbed, darling lace up closure, so cute with shorts, dresses, skinnies. Highly recommended (even at full price!)

Franco Sarto black peep-toe 'venezia' d'orsay flats
RV $79 • I paid $39.90 (Nordstrom Rack)
My Thoughts :: I was searching for a not-so-basic black flat. I actually bought these at Nordstrom full price I liked them so much. Literally the next day I was at Nordstrom Rack and saw the exact shoe in my size. For half the price.
Review :: Lovelovelove. Simple but not boring, comfy from the get-go. Though I did get a comment from my friend Meg that she thought she had the same shoes in middle school in the 80's.

Mossimo neon t-strap flat sandals
RV $23 • I paid $7 (Target)
My Thoughts :: Total impulse. I was hunting for black+gold sandals (see #7) & both were on clearance in only my giant size (I wear a 10 or 11) so I snatched them both up.
Review :: They're great. With the metal toe-cap, they'll last way longer than #1, plus I wear them infrequently enough to keep them looking new. Great pop of color to my generally neutral wardrobe.

Sanuk yoga flip flop
RV $31.95 • I paid $22.90 (Nordstrom Rack)
My Thoughts :: Searching for a flip flop to wear around the pool. Not a fan of plastic straps (like Havaiana's). I had just bought this brand Sanuk for my daughter & she was raving about how cushy they were. She wasn't lyin'!
Review :: The comfy foot bed rivals my FitFlops (which I love & have bought a new pair every summer for 4 years...I'm stocked up.)

Converse Jack Purcell grey slip on sneaker
RV $69.95 • I paid $29.90 (Nordstrom Rack)
My Thoughts :: Needed a slip on casual shoe, shocked to find ones that fit so perfectly for such a deal.
Review :: Very well made, comfortable (see a trend here??). I love a sneaker you don't have to wear a sock with. Great to slip on on the way out the door.

Mossimo black+gold flat sandals
RV $23 • I paid $7 (Target)
My Thoughts :: Was on the hunt for these (See my post on the battle of the black+gold sandals here). Surprised & happy to find them at such a discount.
Review :: Just what I wanted. Comfortable to boot.

Tsubo yellow+grey 'tehina' wedge sandals
RV $170 • I paid $119 (Zappos)
My Thoughts :: I stalked these at Nordstrom for a few months. Initially, I wanted them in black but was talked into the yellow/grey by the salesperson. I'm so glad! They're fun, unusual, and actually do go with a lot. I ended up needing a different size so shopped online only to find a lower price at Zappos (Nordstrom's are now on sale as well).
Review :: My first pair from Tsubo, I adore them. The ankle strap, interesting detail on the wedge, cushioned footbed. My favorite shoe purchase this season for sure.

Banana Republic black strappy+beaded 'natalia' heeled sandal
RV $124 • I paid $12.97 (Banana Republic)
My Thoughts :: Didn't need, wasn't looking for...But at over $100 off, how could I say no? Banana has great sales with additional discounts, and finding accessories & shoes (especially in large sizes) at deep discounts isn't all that rare.
Review :: Haven't worn yet. This mama doesn't have many occasions to wear fancy heels.
Want a pair yourself? Sorry, sold out.

Banana Republic 'neema' neutral beaded strap heeled sandal
RV $122 • I paid $19.97 (Banana Republic)
My Thoughts :: Bought them on impulse at the same time at #9, though I was thrilled to find a neutral ankle strap heeled sandal.
Review :: Just what I wanted. Comfortable for a heel and so on-trend. Love pairing them with my distressed boyfriend jeans.
Want a pair yourself? Sorry, sold out.
It's no secret I love a bargain, and spending my money wisely is high up on my priority list. Why should you pay more than you should for anything you need? Shop around!
