My career over the past decade has allowed a fair amount of domestic travel. To get to say you're "from Seattle" is pretty cool and aside from the "Doesn't it rain there all the time?" (ugh....) questions, the other comment I always get is, "Oh, it's so beautiful there!". One friend I met in flight attendant training remarked, "The grass is green there all year round". I had to think about that for a second...it had never crossed my mind before! Since it never freezes for long or dries out with heat, the landscape looks pretty similar all year long. GREEN!
The other thing we have a lot of is water. It's everywhere...from various lakes that dot our area to the Puget Sound, no one has to drive more than 15 minutes to see a large body of water anywhere in Western Washington.
I've mentioned my affiliation with Junior League on the blog before. I adore the work I get to do for our community. This year, I got to mentor a group of foster teens through Treehouse (an organization I also looooove). As part of our year end celebration, Argosy gave us a great deal & we were able to take our girls on a private dinner cruise on the Sound.

Embrace where you're from, no matter where it is, urban or rural, chic or hick, someone is wishing they were from there! Truth be told, while I've been a city girl all my life, I've always loved the idea of living in a super tiny one stoplight town like my mom grew up in!
