I shop A LOT. Not to say I buy a lot, but I'm out there, always lookin'. I'm not spending the majority of my free time shopping, but I do spend time at night in front of the tv scrolling my iPad through various style websites, e-stores, Pinterest, and Polyvore (it is a passion....) Also, when you have a toddler (& a pre-schooler who loooooves "ya mall"), it's nice to be able to hit an indoor spot when the weather is icky (i.e. Bellevue Square) and run off steam...and see what's out there.
Many times I'm pre-shopping, meaning I find what I want to buy, and sit on that thought. I've said before, I rarely pay retail. Mostly because I don't have to. Neither do you! If you know what you want, stick a pin in it and check back in 3 weeks. It's probably marked down! Unless you're in dire need of something, usually a purchase can wait, especially if it saves you enough to buy something else!
As you may know, the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale (for Women+Kids) is happening in stores and online. Back when I worked for the company, the sale was a bunch of past-season mark downs & was more of a clearance. They've moved the sale from June to May and seriously amped up the selection. I'm impressed! Here's what I scored, all at 40%-50% off!
For Moi :: Sam Edelman Milly Flats
For Aley-Cat (4) :: Pink Glittery Toms (sold out on Nordstrom.com, but still in stores or here)
For My Little Man (1) :: Livie + Luca navy sandals (or here)
So that's where I quit at the Nordstrom sale...but...if you have a Nordstrom card you get to pick a day every year where you get triple points, so I did it this day. And logically, if I'm getting triple points on my card, I better go see what's at Nordstrom Rack too, right?? It's literally on my way home, so...
I found these Jack Purcell's at 40% off (which are still full price at the store !)
If you have yet to shop the Nordstrom sale (you better hurry, it ends on Sunday!), here are some of my other faves ::
Gentle Souls 40% off
Vince 40% off
Vince 40% off
ZigiGirl 33% off
Keep your eyes open & your faves might just find you. Shop the department store sales, but don't count out the discount retailers. My favorite is Nordstrom Rack. It's usually well merchandised and not overly crowded (with crap). Watch next week for my post on how to shop the Rack and get the best deals!
