Blue Trees // Seattle

Have you been to Westlake & seen The Blue Trees? They're fantastic. The project is an international art installation meant to draw attention to deforestation. We first saw them last summer & stopped by to take pics again recently.
Blouse :: Lela Rose (no longer available) // Jacket :: CAbi // Jeans :: CAbi (similar), Bag :: Waverly by Stella & Dot // Sunnies :: Kate Spade (similar)
Had I been planning a little better, I'd have coordinated with some blue of my own! Details. Instead, I'm wearing my favorite top from the Neiman Marcus+Target collaboration. It's Lela Rose & I got it at 70% off! I actually bought it full price when Emily & I went to the launch but didn't wear it & by the time I was about to, it was on sale for so.very.cheap! So I re-bought it. No harm, no foul, right?

Back to the trees...in case you're concerned about the "paint", the artist, Konstantin Dimopoulos, used a colorant made from azurite (a vibrant blue rock) & water. It's designed to wash off with the Seattle drizzle over time. The blue color is so bright it stops you in your tracks (that's the point!) I freaking love public art!

The Blue Tree installation is a must-see in Seattle. Plus, it's in the center of all downtown shopping, so you won't have far to go if you're like me.

    1. They must ave repainted them so I'm not sure how long they'll be blue, but I was surprised to see them blue in march when I first saw them in July!

  2. I love that top. Wish it had been offered in plus sizes. As it was, I scored a glitter leather Marc Jacob bag at 70% off and LOVE IT.

We saw the trees last week. Still cool. Does Seattle still do 1% for art? That's how the bus tunnel got such great art. It's worth getting off at every "station" to check out the great art underground.
